ManifestX | Inaugural Global Artivism Conference | Design Declares | International Colloquium and 3rd Forum of Megacities, Mexico City

ManifestX queers the binary of the word “Manifesto”, in non-fixed statements and non-linear works exploring identity in the Capitalocene. It was initiated in “Identity Dialogues”, a series of conversations with Felipe Viveros and Jamie Perera, and extended to artists in activist, queer and ecological communities. ManifestX makes the compelling case for reclaiming identity as a spectrum of manifestations that rebel against colonial categorisation and celebrate interconnectedness through the lens of non, pre, and post form. It is based on the conviction that opening horizons beyond capitalist realism and catastrophism requires rewilding of its toxic imaginary and limited vocabulary, extending what it means to be human, including as part of the more-than-human world. Jamie, Felipe and other collaborators will be publishing further texts and short audio works that expand on the positions of ManifestX as an ongoing provocation. 

ManifestX has so far been presented at the Inaugural Artivism Conference 2024 in Pretoria, SA, at Design Declares @ Sustainable Ventures 2024, WORLDING MIT 2025, and with David Rothenberg at XXXVIII International Colloquium and 3rd Forum of Megacities, Mexico City .

Non-fixed Statements:

1) The state of potential is our true nature. We are the universe becoming self aware.
2) There is an understanding of ourselves as potential without form, in a state of non- identity.
3) Primordial existence opens us to all possibilities

6) The state of potential becomes spectra(1) as we move into form.
7) Form coalesces according to nature & nurture.
8) We are between narcissist or mycelium depending on need.
9) Need depends on social dynamics.
10) Social dynamics are skewed towards the privilege of dystopia. But the whole (mind-body-spirit) knows beyond capitalist realism and catastrophism.

11) Ecology feeds form into flourishing. Nature shows the boundaries of definition.
12) Vibration is spaciousness. Sound is understanding without articulation.
13) Form coalesces freely according to self-nature. The whole (mind-body-spirit) informs the principles of the form.
14) Form is possibility. Form is anarchy. Form is queer. Form is more than human.
15) Porous boundaries fluctuate between all bodies
16) There is joy in non, pre and post-identity. There is joy in fluid interaction.
